Paint Mosaic Tiles

Updated:2014-06-12 10:36:25
The origin of ceramic tile can be traced to at least 4,000 B.C., while decorative ceramic tiles can be traced to before the 12th century to the Middle East. The widespread use of decorative tiles did not begin until after the 12th century. You can paint your your own mosaic tile for back splashes, counters or bathrooms.

Instructions as follows:

Firstly, draw the design for your mosaic pattern tiles on graph paper. You will be creating a puzzle with the individual tiles and putting them together to make one large picture. By using the graph paper, each square of the graph paper can equal one tile.
Secondly, wash the ceramic tile with soap and water. You might have to scrub the tiles with a scrub brush. If the tiles aren't clean, the paint will not adhere properly.
Thirdly, draw the design on the tiles with a pencil.
Fourthly, paint the design onto the tiles with urethane resin paint. Let it dry.
Fifthly, seal the paint with urethane. Let it dry.
