Steps to Complete Your Flagstone Edges

Updated:2012-12-25 11:51:58
When it comes to the efficient method to make walkways and seating areas, we always remind of laying flagstone. Yeah, you can build retaining walls that have flagstone tops to sit on, and flagstones on outdoor patios or stoops look refined and timeless. Edging flower gardens or in ground pools with flagstone creates attractive areas that draw people to them. Flagstone gives any outdoor room a finished look and increases the value of your property. The edges of flagstone sometimes need to be finished so they look even when laid in a line. Here are simple steps which would be helpful for you.
Step 1
Draw a line with a pencil and ruler along the edge of the flagstone that you want to straighten.
Step 2
Place the chisel on the line and gently tap along the pencil line with the small sledge hammer.
Step 3
Lay the cracked line on the edge of a 2 x 4 scrap of wood, propping the rock so that the edge to discard is just over the edge of the wood. Put the chisel in the middle of the tapped crack line and strike solidly with the sledge hammer, breaking the piece off.
Step 4
To chip off tiny pieces, put the chisel on the edge and hit lightly with the sledge hammer.
